Together We Make a Difference!

I was really excited when the school theme that I proposed this year, "Together we make a difference" was accepted. I wanted to work on something different with my grade 6 students for their end of year project. I chose to do a photography project and was hopeful that they would be able to catch the feeling in pictures. I was not disappointed!

All year, groups of students were assigned to take pictures in the school of people making a difference by working together. They took over 1300 pictures! I met with each of the groups and we selected the pictures that met the criteria and that weren't blurry.

The students painted the black strips on the board and painted each of the wooden letters. I printed the pictures and used modge podge to adhere them to the board before attaching the wooden letters with two way tape.

This beautiful art now hangs in our hallway, depicting positive actions of our students. It is fun to see the students pass by it and try to find a picture of themselves in the art.
